Doodle HR has been created to make HR affordable and available to all companies no matter how small. At Doodle HR, we take a very pragmatic approach and work very closely with our clients, considering ourselves to be an integral part of their management team.


Founded by Nancy Prest in 2013, Doodle HR is based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.


Nancy is an experienced HR professional with CIPD graduate qualifications at master’s level, a Diploma in Employment Law, a Chartered Fellowship and over 20 years’ experience in public, private and not-for-profit sectors.


Nancy is passionate about HR and brings a thorough understanding of regulation and policy development and the importance of compliance for small to medium size businesses. Key HR projects the establishment of HR departments and their operational processes, and the design, delivery and communication of benefits packages as well as include the design and implementation of new HR and Payroll systems, such as SAP, Breathe HR, and People HR.


Nancy works alongside Employment Law Solicitors and continues to update and expand her HR skills to provide clients with expert, up to the minute practical advice, on all day-to-day Human Resources issues as part of the HR Inner Circle with renowned Barrister, and LBC presenter, Daniel Barnett. She also works closely with local recruitment agencies to enable preferential rates for her clients.


In 2015, Nancy was joined in the business by Marie Davies, with Marie becoming Nancy’s business partner in 2019.

As a HR professional, Marie has over 20 years’ experience gained in both public and private sector organisations.  Marie is a Chartered Member of the CIPD and specialises in giving practical HR advice that covers all aspects of managing people.

Marie applies a calm and common-sense approach when working with Directors and Managers with a focus on finding the right solutions to their HR related issues. The aim of the support and guidance given is to empower and support organisations for their current and future needs when managing and developing their own people. Using her knowledge and experience, Marie’s key skill is her ability to work closely with people, giving them the confidence to carry out their roles effectively and fairly in an ever-changing HR landscape.

In partnership with their in-house expert, Gale Filburn at GRF Associates, Doodle HR also supports SME’s by reviewing health and safety risks for their business, identifying issues before they become a problem. With over 20 years’ experience in the industry, Gale can assist businesses with the introduction of health and safety training, policies, and management systems to ensure their business remain compliant.
